In 2014, the BHS English Department, led by Ms. Crossman, put together a Read-a-thon to help support the public library in Ferguson, Missouri, which was the town that was torn apart by the shooting of Michael Brown. The fundraiser was a huge success, as we gathered over $1100, as well as any number of donations that went directly to the library through our web page.
We recently received an update from Scott Bonner, the director of the library, letting us know how appreciative he was of all of the donations that came in from across the country, and to let us know how they used the $450,000 that they received in total. The letter is attached below, and Mr. Bonner also directed us to a video in which he walks us through the Ferguson Library, indicating all of the new and amazing improvements that they have been able to implement in the past two years.
Thank you again to all of you who participated in the read-a-thon!
