Middlesex League Superintendents Discussing Later High School Start Times

At last night’s Burlington School Committee Meeting I shared the joint letter (see below) from the Middlesex League Superintendents that indicated a commitment to holding discussions within each community regarding later school start times for high school students.  While the research on the benefits of later school start times is clear (see below), our only commitment is to hold conversations within our community to see if changing the start time for Burlington High School would be feasible.  Please note that no change to the start time at BHS would occur next year. The letter from the league Superintendents has set the Fall of 2018 as a goal for beginning later start times in Middlesex League high schools that choose to do so.
