We are happy to report that we have completed our first week of PARCC testing for most students in grades 3-8. Aside from a few make-up sessions next week for students who were absent this week, the performance-based component of this year’s PARCC assessments is complete.
Although there were a few challenges, we were able to get through testing for about 1600 students in five schools days thanks to the diligent efforts of students and staff. Despite so many students testing simultaneously across the district, our technological infrastructure performed extremely well. During the week we collected information about the performance of the TestNav app for ELA and math from our teachers and students and we will be in contact with the Massachusetts DESE and Pearson with our feedback.
We will be administering the end-of-year component from May 18-21. For more information on the difference between the performance-based component and the end-of-year test click here. For more information or any questions about PARCC Testing please contact Assistant Superintendent Patrick Larkin (email@example.com).
