A Couple of Positive Stories About Instructional Technology In Burlington

The Instructional Technology efforts of Burlington Public Schools (BPS) have been highlighted in a coupe of recent stories. Bloomberg Businessweek paid a visit to Burlington a couple of weeks ago and spent some time in classrooms speaking with staff and students about our iPad integration. The article, The iPad Goes to School, appeared last week in the national publication discussed some of the trials of the iPad integration in the Los Angeles, California schools while referencing some of the positives that have occurred in Burlington

The second article on BPS,  Good Teaching (Not iPads) is the Focus of Burlington’s 1:1 Initiative, appeared in HigherEd Tech Decisions. The article quoted Director of Instructional Technology Dennis Villano extensively as it noted the importance of the continued focus on good teaching practices and not technology as a critical point in our integration of technology-based instructional resources.
