The New Memorial Building Committee met for the first time last night at the construction site. The tour was coordinated by Kevin Buckley, the architect for the project.
Kevin showed how the outside walls are constructed using a mock up built by the contractor – CTA Construction.
The classroom spaces at the new school are about 25% larger than the classrooms in the current building.
Natural light is a priority in the new building. Each classroom has three large windows.
The caferia and gymnasium were the last floors to be poured. The cement was curing during the site visit.
You can observe the building’s project using a live cam on the project as a page on the blog.
