Summer Accomplishments and Travels

I recently received an email from BHS teacher Rachel Gould.  Rachel is just back from spending 9 days with some students in Ireland on a privately sponsored trip.  A couple of pictures and Rachel’s words follow.

 1.  The non-Burlington Public Schools sponsored trip to Ireland was a great success.  All 32 kids made it back home alive and happy and Jill McInerney, Sally Andrews, Abby Abbot, my husband and I are mostly recovered from the 9 intense days of Irish countryside.  Just wanted to keep you updated, attached is a photo taken at the Burren.

Rachel was even more excited to share the news about one of her swimmers, Amina Meho.  After winning a spot on the Lebanese National Swim Team, Amina is in Rome competing in the World Championships.

2.  Amina Meho is now in Rome preparing for next week’s swimming world championships.  Michael Phelps and all the gang are also there.  Amina is competing for Lebanon.  She won the Lebanese national championships in several events in May (right before her senior exams). A photo of her being awarded a gold medal by the leader of Lebanon’s military is attached.
