Coalition of Essential Schools (CES) Fall Forum

I had the pleasure of reconnecting with many former colleagues at the CES Fall Forum in Charlotte, NC last week.  The Fall Forum is a gathering of administrators, teachers, and students from around the country and beyond who are interested in organizing learning and schools using the CES’s common principles – learning to use one’s mind well; less is more, depth over coverage; goals apply to all students; personalization; student-as-worker, teacher-as-coach; demonstration of mastery; a tone of decency and trust; commitment to the entire school; resources dedicated to teaching and learning; democracy and equity.

My session was not that popular, but I learned a great deal from the other sessions that I attended.
