Thank you to Principal Patrick Larkin and the high school faculty and staff for hosting such an phenomenal ceremony honoring our community veterans. The gym was packed.
The program included excellent inspirational speeches by State Representative Charles Murphy, the Middlesex County Sheriff James Dipaola, and the VFW District 18 Commander Joseph Stavolta. The most moving part of the program for me was hearing Ariana Hall read her winning essay in the Voice of Democracy Contest. Ariana spoke of the admiration and pride she has toward her mother who served in Iraq. A part of what made the reading special was that Ariana’s mother was in the audience.
The Burlington High School Band and Chorus added color (red, white, and blue) to an already patriotic backdrop.
Thank you to all of those in our community who have served and who are currently serving in the armed forces and protecting the freedoms that we so often take for granted.
