Halloween in the Halls

Burlington has some wonderful traditions.  I happily participated in several today.  The first was the central office visit from Mrs. Bransfield’s Early Childhood Program.

Another scary tradition is the Halloween Parade at Francis Wyman.  There were many excellent costumes, but the scariest by far were worn by the first grade teachers.  As if one Joe LaVasseur isn’t spooky enough.

    Halloween and Joe Lev:
About 20 years ago, at the old Wildwood School, Anne Schloder and I were performing a large auditorium science show (Halloween Science) on stage with the entire school sitting in front of us. As I was speaking, the most real looking Gorilla I have ever seen came rushing up behind, picked me up and carried me off stage in front of the entire school. I was so startled and caught off guard, I nearly dampened my pants! Man in the Gorilla suit that picked me up…you guessed it, Joe Lev!
