September 11th Remembered at Pine Glen

Thank you to Jane Dwyer and the Pine Glen School for inviting me to their celebration of heroes today.  September 11th is a special day at Pine Glen because a former student, Thomas McGuiness, was working in the cockpit of one of the jets that left from Boston.  In addition to recognizing this alumnus, Pine Glen honors our local heroes – the men and women in the Burlington Police and Fire Departments.  The afternoon was filled with sunshine, remembrance, celebration, patriotism, student speeches, and song.  There is no greater sound of freedom than childrens’ voices singing “God Bless America.”
